Tierra Hostel, in one paragraph
Tierra Hostel is a 34-bed independent hostel in a converted 1923 print shop on Austin’s East 6th Street. Opened in 2017 by two former backpackers, it offers mixed and women-only dorms, private rooms, a guest-built roof deck, and a bring-a-record, leave-a-record library, on one idea: a hostel should hand you the city, not insulate you from it.

Kind words we didn’t pay for
“The rare hostel that feels like the neighborhood built it for itself, and lets you borrow it for $32 a night.”
“Thirty-four beds, one roof deck, and a Sunday breakfast that out-charms restaurants with month-long waits.”
“If East 6th is Austin’s living room, Tierra is the house next door where the afterparty stays friendly.”
