You will learn everyone’s name. You will give the same taco-truck directions with fresh enthusiasm. You will occasionally mediate a dispute about whose leftovers are whose. In exchange: above-median pay, real schedules posted three weeks out, and a Sunday staff breakfast you’ll think about for years.
We hire for warmth first and train everything else. Hospitality experience helps; hospitality burnout helps more — this is where people come to remember why they liked the work.

Front Desk & House Host — full-time · $20/hr + tips
The face of the house: check-ins, the chalkboard, the coffee pot, the phone. You’ll know the week’s East 6th lineup cold and the guests’ names colder. Two years of customer-facing work of any kind; Austin residency or deep familiarity required — guests can smell a script.
Shifts run 7am–3pm or 3pm–11pm, with a fixed weekly schedule. Benefits: health stipend after 90 days, PTO from day one, and one free staff stay per year to give to whoever you love most.

Housekeeping Lead — part-time · $19/hr
Thirty-four beds turned daily to a standard we’re proud of, plus the kitchens and baths. You set the morning pace and the playlist. We provide the good equipment, the non-caustic supplies, and a schedule that respects your other life.
Roughly 22 hours a week, mornings, more during festival season (with festival-season pay to match). Email [email protected] with the subject “Housekeeping.”
Work-exchange: two seasons a year
Twice a year — spring and fall — we take two work-exchange travelers: 15 hours a week of housekeeping and yard duty in exchange for a bunk, kitchen privileges, and the run of the city. Minimum stay six weeks. This is a real arrangement with real expectations, not free labor dressed up as culture; we’ll send the full terms before you commit.
