Tierra Hostel is a 34-bed independent hostel in a converted 1923 print shop on Austin’s East 6th Street corridor. Opened in 2017 by two former backpackers, it offers mixed and women-only dorms alongside private rooms, a guest-built roof deck, and a bring-a-record-leave-a-record library — and runs on a simple idea: a hostel should hand you the city, not insulate you from it.
