I-25, Santa Fe Regional, or a walk from the plaza if you already parked downtown. Check-in is 3pm. The desk is staffed until 10.

By car

I-25, then the old trail, then the hill.

From Albuquerque

I-25 north, about an hour without Fiesta traffic, longer with it. Take the Old Pecos Trail / St. Francis exit (exit 282). Old Pecos Trail becomes Old Santa Fe Trail as you come into town. At Paseo de Peralta, turn toward Canyon Road. Climb past the first gallery block. 614 is on the uphill (south) side, brown adobe, no neon, a small CASA SOL board by the gate.

From Taos / the north

US-84/285 south to Santa Fe, then St. Francis to Paseo de Peralta, then Canyon. Do not follow a maps app onto Acequia Madre and assume you can cut through; that street is not a shortcut when it is iced.

From downtown

Eighteen minutes on foot from the plaza if you take Palace to Canyon and keep walking. A taxi is pointless unless it is iced or you have luggage you will not roll on brick. The hill is the point of this address.

By air

Santa Fe Regional is closer. Albuquerque is cheaper.

SAF (Santa Fe Regional) is about 70 minutes from the inn in ordinary traffic. We are not a shuttle. Write [email protected] a day ahead if you want Elena to arrange a car; she uses one driver she trusts, not an app. The fee is the driver’s, paid to him.

ABQ is two hours. Most guests flying from the coasts use it and rent a car. If you land after 9pm, say so when you book. Check-in is 3pm; the desk closes at 10. After 10 the night key is posted only for guests already on the books. We will not leave a lockbox code on a voicemail.

Parking

Four spaces behind the house. First come.

The drive is a dirt cut on the uphill side of 614, marked with a small P. Do not block the acequia easement. Do not park on Canyon overnight in winter; the plow does not wait. Street parking after 6 is usually fine in ordinary weeks and impossible during Fiesta, Indian Market, and Christmas Eve farolito walks.

If the four spaces are full, Elena will tell you where to put a second car. We do not hold a space for a late arrival. If you need a space guaranteed, say so when you reserve and we will tell you honestly whether that week can do it.

Canyon Road

Gallery hours, and why we sit above the crush.

Most Canyon Road galleries run Tuesday through Sunday, roughly 10am to 5pm. Many close Monday. A handful open Sunday only in summer. We are past the busiest block on purpose. You walk downhill into the galleries and uphill home. The buses turn around before they reach us.

The road

Start at the lower galleries after breakfast. Monday is a walking day, not a buying day. Elena keeps a marked map at the desk with the houses that actually open on Sunday.

The plaza

Eighteen minutes downhill. The inn is quieter. That is why people stay here instead of a hotel on San Francisco Street. Farolito walks on Christmas Eve fill Canyon; book the Casita a year out if that is your night.

The mountain

West light on the tower porch. The ski basin is about thirty minutes when it actually snows. We do not run a shuttle there either.

Check-in

3pm. Early bags can sit in the lobby if Elena is in. Early rooms happen when a garden room turned the same morning; we will not promise it.

Desk

7am–10pm Mountain, every day. After 10pm, checked-in guests use the night key posted in the confirmation email. Walk-ins wait until 7am. Dinner walk-ins Sun–Wed are not a thing; the kitchen is closed.
